Meet the Team – Samuel Veloz
We asked a few quick-fire questions to get to know our newest teammate a little bit better:
Cheeseburger or tacos?
Easily tacos because there are so many kinds to enjoy! My favorite is al pastor topped with onions, cilantro, salsa verde, and some radish slices if I’m feeling fancy.
First CD you ever bought?
Shhh! by the Kumbia Kings—IYKYK.
Amusement Park or Walk in the Park?
A walk in an amusement park after screaming my lungs out on a roller coaster!

Touchdown welcomes my inexperience because it values my potential, so it was an easy choice.
Ziwe! She tackles pressing social issues while simultaneously being the funniest, most iconic person on the planet.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Funny, nerdy, and cringe (but in an empowering way)

I’ve made very brief appearances on CNN and Cosmopolitan.
Favorite book you’ve read?
I’ve recently been rereading the Percy Jackson series and fell back in love! My favorite is The House of Hades.
Do you have a nickname?
Not really besides Sam these days, but in middle school I was called Trapo (Spanish for rag) because of my long hair.
Greatest achievement?
It’s a toss-up between being a first-gen graduate from The University of Texas at Austin and launching the ball into the white target on my first swing at Topgolf.
