Autumnal Review: Touchdown’s Account of 2024 Tech Events

As 2024 is coming to an end, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what an incredible, event-filled year it has been for industry gatherings. Tech events play a crucial role for professionals looking to network within their field and stay informed about the latest trends and developments. Attending these conferences is an excellent way for organisations to enhance their knowledge and skills while also discovering new business and networking opportunities.
So, with all that in mind, we wanted to have a look back at the events that the UK Touchdown team attended this year:
Event 1: Cloud Expo Europe
Where: ExCeL London
When: March 6th – 7th, 2024
With cloud computing continuing to revolutionise the IT landscape, Cloud Expo Europe was a golden opportunity to learn everything there is to know about operating in the cloud. A huge array of cloud computing exhibitors provided information on future-proofing cloud solutions, the latest cloud technology trends, and how to navigate the ever-evolving cloud landscape. There was even an insightful talk from Professor Brian Cox about the benefits of exploring the universe!
Event 2: MSP Show
Where: ExCeL, London
When: April 17th – 18th, 2024
The MSP Show provided the opportunity for Managed Service Providers to take their businesses to the next level, with suppliers on hand giving advice to help streamline processes and increase efficiency. A huge variety of exhibitors attended across industries including PSA platforms, IT Resellers and cyber security, and a range of talks took place which covered everything from service management to building the next generation of MSPs.
Event 3: The Retail Technology Show
Where: Olympia, London
When: April 24th – 25th, 2024
Attendees at the Retail Technology Show could experience the best in retail tech, with some of the industry’s most innovative suppliers present to showcase the latest digital solutions, tools, and strategies to elevate customer experience and drive sales. An international conference programme allowed people to hear cutting-edge insights first-hand from industry innovators. With 96% of the top UK retailers in attendance, this was not an event to miss.
Event 4: Infosecurity Europe
Where: ExCeL, London
When: June 4th – 6th, 2024
As one of the leading gatherings of the information security industry in Europe, people had the opportunity to come together and share ideas, skills, and innovation to progress within the industry. Leading suppliers took the chance to launch new technologies, products and services, and attendees were able to network and make new connections. With cybersecurity threats in the limelight like never before, it’s the perfect opportunity for bringing the community together to stay ahead in cybersecurity’s rapidly evolving landscape.
Event 5: Big Data London
Where: Olympia, London
When: September 18th – 19th, 2024
Big Data London is the UK’s leading data, analytics & AI event. It acts as a hub for the data community to expand their knowledge, share best practices, and build impactful relationships, all of which are needed to develop effective data-driven businesses. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to exclusive talks delivered by industry experts, as well as discovering new data tools and techniques from global brands including Microsoft and IBM.
